After evaluating more than 120 applications from students in the Paarl-Mbekweni area, Bursary Loans were awarded to 20 First Year students who are studying a wide range of courses at CPUT, UCT, US and UWC. A further 54 Bursaries, bringing the total amount allocated for the 2012 academic year to more than FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY Thousand Rands were awarded to Senior students who study at The South African School of Motion Picture Medium & Live Performance (AFDA), Boland Kollege Paarl, CPUT, UCT, US and UWC respectively.

Ms Ebrezia Johnson, currently studying towards her Doctorate in Law and lecturer in Private Law at the University of Stellenbosch, was the guest speaker. During her highly motivating speech, she urged all students to work hard in order to achieve their goals.
Applauded by the huge number of parents and family members present, the 20 1st year students received their awards from Board members Daniƫl Adams and Christo Sampson. Senior Students received their awards from Board Members Leon Aaron and Treasurer Charles Ockert.

Musical talent by Sheryl and her daughter Candice Hendricks lightened up the evening which was was brought to a close through votes of thanks by student Stacy-Lee van der Westhuizen and Ms Gail Jacobs followed by a closing prayer by Reverend T Hendriks of the St Stephens Anglican Church.
